Dental Crowns – Park Cities, Dallas, TX
A Dazzling Way to Restore Your Smile
Older fillings are at risk of fracture and are prone to secondary decay- a cavity next to, or beneath the current filling. And larger fillings simply don’t last forever; when your tooth has been excavated and filled, sometimes more than once, an onlay or crown is needed to provide a restoration with greater stability.
We stand proud of the quality, fit, and longevity of our onlays and dental crowns in Park Cities, Dallas, TX. Compared to onlays and/or dental crowns, redundant fillings are a makeshift measure. Either way, a tooth with a large, deteriorating filling, left untreated, may self-destruct to the point where even an onlay or crown isn’t feasible, making extraction of the tooth the only real option. We are obliged to share with you what we think is the most favorable treatment and would like to help you to make the best decision for yourself in such cases.

The Dental Crown Process
When the best decision is reached and you are moving forward with an onlay or crown, please know that in many cases this is a two-visit procedure. The first visit will involve preparing the tooth for the crown, taking an impression and placing a temporary crown that will keep your tooth functioning normally until the permanent crown returns from the lab.
On your second visit, we will remove the temporary crown and cement the final crown into place. Tiny adjustments will be made until we have the perfect fit. Finally, we will review some special care instructions that you will need to follow at home.
